STAR Kids is a Texas Medicaid-managed program that started in November 2016. This program benefits children and adults aged 20 and above who have disabilities through:
- Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS)
- Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities (DBMD)
- Home and Community-based Services (HCS)
- Texas Home Living (TxHmL)
- Youth Empowerment Services (YES)
Because of STAR Kids, families all over Texas with a child or family member who is eligible for coverage under the program can take advantage of comprehensive care coordination. The care recipient will be provided with an individual service plan where needs are identified and addressed by a qualified provider.
